About Faz: Gallery
At the age of 14, Faizi Faz Husain and his family emigrated from Patna, India to Ypsilanti, MI. From that point on, Faz became an unforgettable member of this community. Faz owned and operated pizzerias in both Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor–but Faz was much more than a pizza man. Faz was a one of a kind citizen who was devoted to his community and nation. His resume includes time as a city councilman, a national delegate in the 1984 presidential election, a member of President Clinton’s 1999 trade mission to India, and above all, an ever-giving member of his community.
In 2006, Faz passed away, leaving a wonderful legacy of a life well-spent. Everywhere Faz went, he carried a big smile and always had time for everyone. Everyone that met him remembers him as the friendliest and most generous person imaginable. The photos below tell Faz’s story: you will find a photo of Faz with every president from Nixon to Clinton, world figures like Mother Theresa and the Dalai Lama, entertainers like Bob Hope and Bill Cosby, and athletes like Mickey Mantle and Muhammad Ali,who was one of Faz’s lifelong friends.
The Hello Faz Pizza family thanks the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti community for its endless support. We love you all!
